Salaries in the Middle East are expected to rise across the entire region in 2015 as a strengthening global economy provides a growing confidence among companies. The region as a whole is expected to rise on average 5.1% however some countries are expected to see more growth than others.

However, due to the uncertainty of the falling oil prices, information remains inconclusive as to which country will see the largest increase, as two major companies reporting different findings.

In the Hay Group survey, their findings suggested the UAE is set to be the biggest riser, predicting a 5.7% salary increase, followed by Qatar at 5.4%.

However, according to the latest figures from Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health solutions business of Aon plc. they have forecasted the UAE being one of the countries with the lowest salary increases in 2015 (4.8%) with Saudi Arabia and Oman instead leading the way with a projected 5.4% increase in 2015.

Kuwait is the highest paying country in the region for a construction manager in construction. With an average of $6,600 USD per month, a high salary can see any where near $9,400 USD per month and a low salary of $4,000 USD per month.

UAE

The UAE is second in the highest paid construction managers with an average salary of $6,300 USD per month. A high salary is similar to that in Kuwait, however the lower salary range falls to around $3,500 USD.

Working as a western expat in the UAE is beneficial as well, with the average salary ($6,900) being slightly higher than that of an Arab Expat (6,500). Once you move into the higher positions, a senior project manager can earn an average of $9,300 USD per month.

Qatar is the next country in the GCC with the highest monthly salary in the construction industry with an average construction manager earning around $5,900 USD per month. However, they have one of the highest paid upper echelons of construction managers in the GCC with reported potential earnings of $9,900 USD per month.

A western expat can expect to earn an average of $7,100 USD per month, over $1,000 USD per month more than their Arab national colleagues.

Qatar also has the regions highest paying Senior Project Manager’s earning an average of $10,600 USD per month.

The regions fourth highest paying country on average (for a construction manager) is Saudi Arabia with average earnings of $5,300 USD per month.

Despite this, Saudi Arabia has the highest average expat salary for a construction manager, earning $8,200 USD per month, approximately $1,000 USD per month more than any other country in the GCC.

A high paying construction manager can earn up to $12,300 USD per month while a low paying construction manager can earn a lowly $2,800 USD p/m.
